REUNION INFORMATION

                 CHS-TBF CROQUET TOURNAMENT RULES
 

• Sequence-Of-Play Rule (BLUE, RED, BLACK, YELLOW):

               Each player gets only one shot per Sequence-Of-Play.

               When in doubt look at the center stake.

• Winner of Coin Toss Selects Colors for Their Team:

​              BLUE/BLACK TEAM

                       Remember (Sequence-Of-Play Rule) Blue always goes first.

              RED/YELLOW TEAM

• Placement Of Ball

          o   At Starting Point:

                  Place ball within 3 feet of flag, and 1 foot inside the boundary string.

          o   Balls are always played from where they are positioned.

          o   If your ball goes out of bound (there is no penalty)

                   Placed ball 1 foot inside of string where it went out of bounds

• There Are 5 Wickets In Play And Each Wicket Is Worth One Point:​    

          o   Four outside wickets and one center wicket.

          o   First Team to score 3 wickets WINS.

          o   Winning Team Must Immediately Inform Scorekeeper.

• Scoring Rules:

          o​   Player’s Ball must run in correct wicket order and direction to                                 score.

          o   Player’s Ball must be completely through nonplaying side of wicket to                   score.

• Only One Ball Can Score at Each Wicket:

          o   Score Total Must be Declared and agreed to by everyone before                         proceeding.​

          o   After the score the remaining balls proceed in sequence to the next                   wicket.

• Coach Tom McFadden’s Rule:

          o   ​A player may concede the current wicket and proceed to the next wicket.

                    NOTE:  Player cannot advance more than halfway to the next wicket.

                             o   On all sequence shots, the Player cannot advance pass this                                      halfway mark until the previous wicket is scored.

• Fault Rules (This is Where a Player is Penalized): 

          o   ​Player’s mallet may only strike their own ball.

                       NOTE:  It’s OKAY for your ball to hit other balls.

          o   Player can only use mallet head to strike ball.

          o   Player plays his Ball out of turn (Sequence-Of-Play Rule).

• Penalty Rule For A Fault:

          o   All balls that are hit are returned to their original position.

          o   Player at fault loses their turn for that Sequence-Of-Play.   PAGE 12
